Day 6 - Mykanos

The day started early at 8am as we met for  breakfast.  The boat had actually docked instead of mooring - so we had no need to be tendered to shore.
We were shuttled by bus from the dock to the edge of the city.
From there, we rented 3 ATVs.

What a blast!
We cruised through the streets making our way to our first stop - Parada Beach.   We parked our vehicles and rented 6 chairs. The basin that the beach was in was beautiful.  A small cove where the water was crystal clear.
The kids walked up the beach - upon returning they informed us that it was a nude beach - at least further down.
We ordered 3 daquries and 3 juicy vodka drinks.

So we sat, sipping our drinks under the cloudless sky.  At times, taking a dip in the chilly water.
After a 2nd round of drinks, we packed up and tried to navigate our way to out 2nd beach of the day - Platis Gialos.  This was easier said than done - as we drove in loops for a bit until Nat stopped and asked for directions.  By the time we arrived, it was lunchtime.
Jamie had done her homework and suggested we eat at the Blue Myth - right on the beach.
We had the most fantastic meal to date.  A fresh Snapper, Greek salads, and deep fried cheese.
The fish(served with nicely seasoned French Fries), was DELISH!  It was devoured.  As was the cheese (we had to order a 2nd round of it!)
The waiter brought us a round of shots and baklava - what a meal!   Our waiter, Demitri, became fast friends with David, and took good care of us.

Soon we pried ourselves up from our chairs and got out chairs.
IT WAS HOT!  Although the boys had made sure to get Linda and me chairs under an umbrella, the sun had shifted so that I was in direct sunlight.
There were plenty of dips in the sea, as we all tried to cool down.
After a while, we packed up and made our way back to return the ATVs and take a short walk in the city.
As time was short, the pace picked up to try to see as many sights as possible.

All the buildings were stark white - many with blue roofs and doors.

Linda and I opted to cut the walk short, and we made our way back to the ship while the kids kept exploring.
Once on the ship, I quickly took a drop into the pool as Linda did a bit of exercise.
The kids soon returned and we sat on deck, planning out the next day - Santorini.
By dinner time, we were all exhausted - a combination of sun, heat, sand and alcohol had taken its toll. David felt ill and came late to dinner (as Nat nursed him back to health).
Dinner was faster than usual, and with much less drinking.
We opted to pass up any after-dinner plans and headed back to the rooms - looking forward to Santorini in the morning.
