No sign of Jamie or Josh, as they slept past breakfast.
We all packed and checked out - put our bags in storage and took our last exploration into this wonderful city. The object today was a good meal.
As we browsed for some souvenirs, Josh stopped into a coffee shop for an iced coffee somethingaroo, and asked the owner where was a good place to eat. After giving us the name and directions that we didn't understand - we set out.
Jamie translating the American street names on the map, to the Greek names on the street signs.
After a few twist and turns, we hit out destination. O Eaváons.
Chicken souvlaki and (again), a tomato salad. Truly a great meal for our last in Athens.
We leisurely strolled back to our hotel, to gather our bags and begin the next part of our vacation.
David had called us to let us know they landed and we're heading to the ship.
The four of us piled into out taxi, excited to see David and Nat - and the Equinox.
As we arrived at the dock, we were truly amazed at the size of the ship. We were ushered into an air conditioned tent, where we were united with the other third of our party.
As we passed through the check-in, we saw a shop to purchase a few bottles of wine to take on board.
Jamie noticed that there was a cigar humidor! So I also picked up a box of Pardegas cubanos cigars - the guys would have some after dinner whisky and stogies!
Soon enough, we boarded the ship and were greeted with mimosas and champagne.
WELCOME ABOARD!
Our staterooms are awesome. Three in a row, which allowed us to remove the barriers between the balconies so we could enjoy some pre-dinner cocktails on our own.
As we toured the ship, our first stop (of course) was the bar. DRINKS AROUND!
A quick tour of the spa and gym, and then (or course) the main deck buffet! As we were chowing down, the Equinox pulled out of port. Any worries that Jamie had of motion sickness were quickly lost as we barely noticed the movement.
After the 'muster' drill, we returned to our cabins to shower and change. And nap.
The main dining hall was beautiful. Our table was off to the side near a window, making it a nice quiet spot.
Dinner was good
The wine was better! We drank many glasses of Malbec. Our waiter was very nice, and helped in assisting Jamie with her lactose free diet.
Following dinner, Linda (still feeling under the weather), returned to the stateroom as the five others went up to the aft outdoor bar.
What a great evening - drinks and cigars under the stars. After a few rounds of drinks, we went inside.
Nat and David went to their stateroom (I'm sure jet lagged). Josh, Jamie and I hit the casino (briefly), and then back to our rooms for a well deserved nights sleep.
